This year again, several scholarships will be
awarded through the PFLAG scholarship application process. These

Scholarships,
(in memory of PFLAG's past president)
One $1,000 Mark and Art Woodland Memorial Scholarship

Two $250 Tucson LGBTQ School Book Scholarships
This year PFLAG Tucson will award four $1,000
scholarships to LGBT persons to attend an institution of higher education,
three in the name of Gene Moore,
our past president, and one in the name of Mark and Art Woodland, the son
and husband of
long-time PFLAG member Elaine. Mark passed away in 2010 and Art in 2011. In
addition, Tucson LGBTQ will award two $250 School Book Scholarships through
the PFLAG application process to economically challenged, very deserving
Tucson LGBT high school seniors from low-income Tucson families who otherwise
might not be able to attend Pima Community College in Tucson. Although this is
just Tucson LGBT’s third year to offer these through PFLAG Tucson, Tucson LGBTQ has been offering them for 12 years now. The application deadline is
March 31, 2012.

motivated to attend Pima Community College, who will be officially enrolled
there, and wishes to further his or her education, resulting in a more
active standing and better quality of life for them and the Tucson LGBT
Community;
Must support the values of Tucson’s LGBT
community by giving back to that LGBT community in some way when possible
during their lifetime.
